Policies and Procedures

Rhymes Nursery has a full and comprehensive list of policies and procedures which we welcome parents to view at any time.

Sickness & Illness
Children should not be left at nursery if they are unwell. If a child is unwell then they prefer to be at home with their parents rather than at nursery with their peers. The nursery has the right to refuse admission to a child who is unwell. This decision will be taken by the manager on duty and is non-negotiable. If a child becomes unwell during the nursery day, their parents will be contacted and asked to collect their child as soon as possible. Should a child have an infectious disease, we follow the Health Protection Authority guidance.

Behaviour Management
We believe our children flourish best when they know how they are expected to behave. Children gain respect through interaction with caring adults who show them respect and value their individual personalities. Positive, caring and polite behaviour will be encouraged and praised at all times in an environment where children learn to respect themselves, their people and their surroundings.

By positively promoting good behaviour, valuing cooperation and a caring attitude we hope to ensure that children will develop as responsible members of society.

Mealtimes should be a happy, social occasion for children and staff alike. Positive interactions should be shared at these times and enjoyed. Rhymes Nursery is committed to offering children healthy, nutritious, balanced meals and snacks which meet individual needs and requirements.
Menu's are available to view at the individual nurseries and operate on a 3 week rolling basis.

If your child brings their own food to nursery, we ask for it to be as healthy as possible, avoiding items such as chocolate and crisps.

Rhymes nursery asks that due to allergies that no grapes, nuts or egg are sent in with your child's lunchbox.

Health & Safety
Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, and a safe early learning environment in which children are cared for, and learn in. We provide information, training and supervision to meet this purpose. We wish to develop and promote a strong health and safety culture within the nursery for the benefit of all the staff, children and parents.

We have a designated member of staff who is responsible for overseeing the health and safety practice on all sites.

‘Rhymes Nursery was recommended to us by a friend.  My daughter is extremely happy at Rhymes and gets very excited when we arrive.  All the staff are extremely professional and thorough but also caring and understanding.’
