Caring for your child as if they were our own

or give us a call 0121 421 7598

We welcome you to view our nursery at any time. You can call or book a visit online.

If you decide you would like to register your child with us, we ask you to complete a preliminary registration form.

To secure your nursery place we ask for a £50 non-refundable administration fee. We ask that you provide us with your child’s red book and full birth certificate. All registration documentation both written and online must be completed before your child begins their care with us.

Rhymes Nursery will carry out an additional review of individual circumstances and requirements, then assess our ability to meet those needs.

If staff require any additional training or information in order to provide care for a particular child, this will be done prior to the child being in our sole care. This is necessary to meet our prime objective, a standard of care that ensures the welfare of all children at all times.

Our admission policy is below.

Rhymes Nursery Admission Policy

At Rhymes Nursery we care for children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years

The numbers and ages of children admitted to the nursery comply with the legal space requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  When considering admissions we are mindful of staff: child ratios and the facilities available at the nursery.

The nursery will use the following admission criteria which will be applied in the following order of priority:

  1. Looked after children
  2. A child known by the local authority to have special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND) and whose needs can be best met at the preferred nursery
  3. A vulnerable child with either a Child Protection, a Child in Need Plan or Early Help

      4. Children who have siblings who are already with us

5.Children whose parents live within the area.

A child requiring a full-time place may have preference over one requiring a part-time place. This is dependent upon work commitments, occupancy and room availability.

We operate an inclusion and equality policy and ensure that all children have access to nursery places and services irrespective of their gender, race, disability, religion or belief or sexual orientation of parents.

Prior to a child attending nursery, parents must complete and sign a contract and registration form. These forms provide the nursery with personal details relating to the child. For example, name, date of birth, address, emergency contact details, parental responsibilities, dietary requirements, collection arrangements, fees and sessions, contact details for parents, doctor’s contact details, health visitor contact details, allergies, parental consent and vaccinations etc.

Providers eligible to provide government funded places for early education

All settings registered to accept government funding (detailed in the code of practice) must offer free places for two, three to five year olds for early learning sessions specified by the local authority. At Rhymes Nursery we currently provide free funded places available for children subject to availability and proof of eligibility.  These places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and can be booked a term in advance. Please note for admissions for the free nursery education we have a termly intake, beginning the term following your child’s second/third birthday. All funded sessions are now in line with the flexible arrangement as specified by the Government. When you register your child for their funded place we will discuss your needs and, as far as possible with availability and staffing arrangements, we will accommodate your wishes.

We reserve the right to withdraw funded places with notice at the end of a term if we feel we can no longer meet the needs of your child/family.

Please be aware, that an increase in hours when your child becomes eligible for government funding at 3 years old, may not always be possible due to spaces within the nursery. If you know you will require additional hours the term after your child is 3 years old, we strongly suggest that your child attends for the sessions you require from the day they start the setting.

Friendly staff, caring / nurturing atmosphere and good facilities.

I really appreciate all the effort put in from you all as our child has developed so much whilst being cared for by you.

Rhymes is a lovely nursery and improving all the time. I'm happy to be a parent as well as an employee of Rhymes Nursery.

Staff will always be available to discuss any concerns you may have and we welcome parents visiting the nursery at any time during the day.
