Safeguarding Your Child

At Rhymes Nursery we are committed to safeguarding your child.

We work with children, parents, external agencies and the community to ensure welfare and safety of children and to give them the very best start in life.

To safeguard children and promote their welfare we will:

  • Create an environment to encourage children to develop a positive self image
  • Provide positive role models
  • Encourage Children to develop a sense of independence and autonomy in a way that is appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for all children
  • Always listen to children
  • Provide an environment where practitioners are confident to identify where children  and families may need intervention and seek the help they need
  • Share information with other agencies as appropriate

The Designated Child Protection Officer for the nursery is Jenny Sharp if you have any concerns please feel free to contact on  individual numbers.
All our Staff are employed via a rigorous safer recruitment program where all staff are required to have an identity check, an enhanced DBS and references detailing their suitability. All staff receive safeguarding training and are first aid trained.

Social Media

We are very aware of the growing trends of social media such as Facebook and Instagram. We are asking that you be aware that any pictures you post of your children are in the public domain unless you set your Facebook settings accordingly. We do not encourage staff to be “friends” or “follow” parents on social media, however where this is unavoidable such as family members or long standing friendships, we ask you to be mindful that your pictures and posts can be seen by others who may not be “friends.” If you do not wish to have your pictures and posts in the public domain, please adjust your settings accordingly or de friend the staff member. We ask that no “new friendships” are requested between staff and parents.

At the time I was looking for a suitable nursery for my daughter to attend, I visited several nurseries in the area. When I walked into Rhymes the atmosphere was fabulous. The staff immediately engaged with my daughter and she with them. I hadn't seen this in the other nurseries.

Ms J Roberts

During Freddie's time at Rhymes he has come on in leaps and bounds which is all down to the fantastic staffs care and attention to detail. Nothing is too much for them and they take the time to really learn about your child and their personal likes and dislikes. Freddie was shy and timid when he first started but with the help of the staff his confidence has grown and he now loves going off to play. I cannot thank them enough for making the transition back to being a work mom a smooth one for both me and Freddie.

Staff will always be available to discuss any concerns you may have and we welcome parents visiting the nursery at any time during the day.
